The downtown galleries will be open this Friday night from 6 to 9 pm as part of First Friday gallery walk. This work, "Riverside, Tan & Blue" by Keith Sorenson, will be among the works on display.

McCool Gallery is featuring local artists Diane and Art Learmonth. Wood wall pieces and furniture by Art and Fiber pieces by Diane. Art will display new pieces with Celtic Knot designs as well as wall sculptures using burls and exotic woods. Diane will show small felted fiber works with a seacoast theme as well as a collection of felted, beaded and adorned "Spirit Dolls". The gallery will also celebrate spring with colorful floral oil paintings by Cathy Schoenberg and bright acrylics by Anne Martin McCool.

Gallery at Burtons is showing the paintings of Linda Henley, watercolors of Northwest wildflowers in the style of botanical illustrations. Also featured will be a special collection of Lundberg art glass in floral themes. Bob Anderson, the new goldsmith, has a beautiful line of flower earrings and pendants that will be introduced in both silver and gold. There will also be new jewelry designs from the collaboration of artist Ora Peterson and Philip Burton, with constellation and celestial themes. Refreshments will be served.

Scott Milo Gallery presents a new collection of oils by Keith Sorenson. Sorenson is working in a series of landscapes with colorful trees in his style of “rain and reflection”. Also showing are oils by Sandy Byers, acrylics by Dianna Shyne and Christine Camilleri and abstract oils by Don deLlamas and quilts by the Fidalgo Island Quilters.

The Majestic is proud to feature art from Tom Krowl. Tom was born and raised in New York City. Although he has had no formal training, Tom discovered a love for the arts at a young age and is self-taught. Tom joined the Navy in the 60’s and is a retired Vietnam veteran. He and his wife retired in Washington State. Tom loves creating oil paintings and has many ideas inspired by all of the places he has lived and seen over the years. Tom also restores paintings, including the enormous “Lady in the Woods” piece at The Majestic which originated in 1889 from Manchester, England. He has several other pieces of work around Skagit Valley and we are honored to be hosting his work here at The Majestic
