Harp Attack is back! And once again the great Mark DuFresne is at the helm. Our annual blues harmonica throwdown features some of the top players in the NW backed by Mark and his band. Dufresne is one of the most sought after Blues talents in the Northwest. The Washington Blues Society has awarded him for best vocalist, songwriter and harmonica more than any other artist. Joining Mark tonight will be Stacy Jones and Jeff Herzog.
Jeff Herzog has long been a respected member of the Seattle blues scene, who after almost 40 years in the local music scene, has put his own positive healing on the blues world. Almost two decades ago, Mr Herzog founded the popular, blues flavored, R & B band, Jeff Herzog and the Jet City Fliers. This unique band has certainly packed their share of joints and logged a lot of miles bringing their special sound to blues fans on both sides of the cascades. In 2007 the band won the Washington Blues Society’s BB Award, for Best Album of the Year. Besides Jeff’s songwriting skills and unique vocal stylings, Jeff is a great harmonica player as well, being recognized twice with BB Awards for Best Harmonica.
Stacy Jones is no stranger to success. She has been nominated, multiple times, for “Best of the Blues” awards in songwriting, performance, harmonica, and guitar. She and her band have won the “Best Band Award,” four consecutive years in 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018 plus over a dozen other “Best of the Blues” awards, from the Washington Blues Society including Best Female Vocalist, Blues harmonica, Blues Songwriter, Blues Drummer and Blues Bass and the 2018 NW Recording of the Year for her album Love Is Everywhere. 2016 WBS Best of the Blues Awards winner for Best NW recording / Whiskey Wine and Water, The 2015 IMEA award winner: Best Blue Song “Can’t Do Nothin’ Right.” In 2017, she was accepted in the first round of Grammy Voting for “Best Contemporary Blues Album” and “Best Americana Song” and was chosen to represent the South Sound Blues Association as the entrant for the 2018 Best Self-produced CD Competition at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN.
