I would like to take this opportunity to share some good news with you regarding next school year.

The board of the Anacortes Schools Foundation (ASF), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Anacortes schools, teachers and students, wishes to thank all our generous scholarship donors. 

If you like to shop local, the Farmer's Market is the place to be.  This weekend is your chance to stock up on all you need for your Memorial Day Weekend planning.  We're open each Saturday (rain or shine) from 9am - 2pm.

Andi and Marion are two bicyclists we had the pleasure of hosting last weekend. They're from Lucerne, Switzerland, and found me and my wife via Warm Showers, a Web-based service linking cyclists and people who are willing to give cyclists a place to stay for a night.

Friday marked the first of many difficult decisions that will be required to balance our state's $2.6 billion budget shortfall. I voted for two bills in the Senate cutting costs totaling nearly $69 million.
