Mayor Gere and Carla Bigelow cut the ribbon to officially open the new 1,900-squre foot fitness center at the Fidalgo Pool on Friday afternoon.
The fitness center, built by Quantum Construction at a cost of about $400,000, replaces the old exercise and weight room on the second floor of the Fidalgo Pool facility at 22nd St. and J Ave.
The new fitness center has all new equipment and a great view to the east. The current room will continue to be used as a group fitness area.
An open house for the general public will run from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm on Saturday and will include free use of the center in celebration.
