Tesoro will begin to startup their March Point refinery on Monday, according to a report from Bloomberg News. The entire refinery is expected to be fully operational by Oct. 15 as “that fits with our mid-October plan for a restart,” Bloomberg quotes Lynn Westfall, a company spokesman.

The refinery was shut in early April for repairs after a deadly fire that killed seven workers. It was the most destructive accident at a U.S. refinery in 5 years.

“The restart schedule is pretty detailed,” Westfall told the news service. “We have spent months preparing for this and part of our planning process is to look at issues that might come up and we’re confident that it will go smoothly.”

The Tesoro March Point refinery makes up about 20 percent of the refining capacity in Washington state, according to Bloomberg.
