This month's first Friday Gallery Walk will feature works by popular artist Jennifer Bowman at Scott Milo Gallery plus Fall Colors show at The Good Stuff. 

The First Friday Artwalk is Friday, October 7 from 6 – 9 pm.

A.C.M.E. Creative Spaces, 705 Commercial Ave.

ACME Creative will feature the works of Kathryn Glowen and Hannah Parrett. Glowen finds influences in the natural world and politics reflected in complex assemblages of re-purposed objects and Parrett, new to the Pacific NW, explores the perceptual oddities of color and space through installation and paintings.

Burton Jewelers, 620 Commercial Ave.

Burton Jewelers will feature the continuing show of Philip McCracken for the October Art Walk. This show closes in October and a new show will open in November. Also showcased will be a collection of Ethiopian opal, the October birthstone, along with pink tourmaline, also used as October birthstone. Refreshments and treats will be served.

Scott Milo Gallery presents brilliantly colored acrylic paintings by Jennifer Bowman. We will have a great new collection of trees, florals and seascapes. Also showing are oils by Cynthia Richardson, acrylics by Jacqui Beck, monoprints by Marie Powell and acrylics by Brooke Borcherding. For Fall we will have a new selection of glass, sculptures, custom tables and jewelry.

Maggi Mason started painting as a child, first in watercolor, then acrylics, oils and finally mostly collage. Her inspiration comes from her imagination and from nature, poems, music and books. She has exhibited in galleries and shows in the UK, France and here in Maryland and Washington States. Her work can be seen at the River Gallery (mid-Sept. to end of Oct).and Arts Alive, Maple Hall in LaConner (beginning of November). She is a member of Skagit Artists Together and the Northwest Collage Society in Seattle.

The Anacortes Arts Commission presents a Preview Show for the upcoming 98221 Studio Tour at the Depot. View a sampling of work from the 30 artists who will participate in the 98221 Studio Tour scheduled for October 22 & 23. See works from local painters, fiber artists, glass, ceramic and jewelry artists, along with metal arts, photography and more. Maps and information about the upcoming studio tour will be available at the Depot as well.
