Mount Baker looked beautiful across Padilla Bay from the east side of Fidalgo Island this afternoon. The Weather Service says this weekend will be warm, even hot in some locations around Northwest Washington. However, they’re forecasting high temperatures in Anacortes will only hit the mid-70’s.

In Mount Vernon, the Weather Service is forecasting a highs of 83 on Saturday and Sunday, with Monday’s high at 85. They expect temperatures to moderate on Tuesday.

The Weather Service says temperatures will be begin to warm up today, with highs running as much as 10 to 20 degrees warmer than just a couple days ago. They said Sunday will likely be the warmest day in interior locations.

The Weather Service issued a warning that, while the temperatures won’t be particularly oppressive, the abrupt change does present hazards. Keep in mind that rivers and lakes are still cold.
