A bicyclist goes under the newly-installed arch at the west end of the trestle on the Tommy Thompson Parkway Friday. The Asian-style arch, by nationally-recognized artist Ries Niemi of Edison, spells out 'we' in 8 languages across the top.
The trestle was commissioned by the Anacortes Arts Festival and paid for with about $4,000 it has raised in the past couple of Art Dash. They achieved their goal to have the arch in place for this year's Art Dash, which takes place Saturday.
