After 6 months of work by a team of boatbuilders, the Old Anacortes
Rowing Society (OARS) Thursday launched their new wooden 27-foot gig,
the Island Star, then showed the boat off to a small crowd at the north
end of Cap Sante Marina.

The tall ship Lady Washington heads out of Cap Sante Marina Saturday afternoon on what they call a 'Battle Sail,' a 3 hour recreation of a typical 18th century naval skirmish. The Hawaiian Chieftain, another tall ship, followed the Lady Washington out to Fidalgo Bay.
