On a side street in downtown Anacortes, there is a small yellow house with a green and white banner over its door that reads, “Mary Ann’s Kitchen.” That’s just what you’ll find inside – Mary Ann’s kitchen. The establishment is as unassuming as its owner, Mary Ann Tostenson.

Auburn body not that of Keith Anderson

The discovery of a body near the wreckage of a car down a 200-foot embankment in Auburn is NOT that of Keith Anderson. Normally I don't post items that are not Anacortes-related, but because of the intense interest in Anderson's disappearance, I thought I'd make sure that everyone knows that the Auburn body is not his. King County sheriff's deputies and fire crews responded to the scene in the 16200 block of SE Auburn Black Diamond Road around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and found the body near the car.

Andy Gladish: Forging a life

“I’ve led a Bohemian lifestyle most of my life,” says metalsmith Andy Gladish. Once a vagabond, he now lives on Guemes Island. “This island is still pretty funky,” he’s happy to say. “You can see its hippie roots.”
