Cantwell Opposes Bernanke Reappointment

Today Senator Maria Cantwell voted against the reappointment of Ben Bernanke to a second four-year term as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank. Cantwell’s primary concern is creating jobs by getting capital flowing again to Main Street businesses through community banks.

Tough Decisions

Friday marked the first of many difficult decisions that will be required to balance our state's $2.6 billion budget shortfall. I voted for two bills in the Senate cutting costs totaling nearly $69 million.
