Adventures on the Mudhen

2010-0904_mudhen_trip.jpgOn a recent trip back to Anacortes from Sinclair Island with my landing craft (the Mudhen), I encountered something floating near a buoy out in the middle of several channels, I stopped the boat and, with binocs, saw someone waving, so I went over to see what was the problem.

Two separate fires keep ASJI Red Cross busy

Two separate fires in Anacortes left two families out on the street and in need of Red Cross assistance. 

On 24th Street a 3-year-old child saved the day when he noticed the bed he and his mom were sleeping on was on fire, he woke his mom and they escaped unharmed.
