School Board community luncheon setPosted by Jennifer Tottenham in Schools |

In cooperation with the Anacortes Senior Center, the Anacortes School Board invites the community to be their lunch guest on March 19, 2009 at the Anacortes Senior Center.
This luncheon will begin at noon and the lunch program is expected to last one hour.
This school year our Board adopted a new governance model designed to focus its efforts and resources on our goals, or “ends,” and to foster greater connection, or “linkage,” with our community.
The purpose of this luncheon is for our Board to “link,” listen and learn from you.
We will take a few minutes to describe our District’s strategic plan: Charting a Course to Excellence and our theory of action: Enhancing the quality of instruction enables students to be School Ready, Transition Ready and College/Work Ready. We will also share the data on our progress towards these readiness goals.
The majority of the time will be yours to “link” both formally and informally with our Board members and to provide them feedback on the job you think our District is doing in educating our students.
Please know, our Board values your support and never forgets our community and parents trust us with their most valued assets, their children, and expects us to mold each and every one of them into productive and compassionate citizens. This is an incredible challenge, but one with the help of staff, parents, and community working together we can achieve.
Please RSVP to Sally Hill. Sally may be reached at the Anacortes Senior Activity Center by phone at: 360-293-7473 or by email at
