Offers Wicked Winter Weather Safety Tips for Your Home and Vehicle

As temperatures drop across the country and we head full steam ahead into the winter season, American Red Cross is urging families to take the following actions now to prepare for hazardous winter weather.

The ASJI Red Cross was called to the 900 block of Commercial Ave. to support 15 fire fighters from the Anacortes and Mount Erie fire departments as they searched for the source of smoke in a crawl space below the building. 

With forecasts for powerful winds and heavy rains expected throughout Western Washington, the American Red Cross reminds individuals and families to stay safe and be prepared. Some basic preparation and common-sense safety tips will help ensure safety during possible power outages and high winds.     

The American Red Cross is on the ground in American Samoa where a tsunami swept across the island after a powerful earthquake hit the South Pacific.

The Anacortes/San Juan Islands Red Cross responded to a 3 AM Friday structure fire in Skyline. The fire was contained to one section of the structure and there was light smoke damage to one of the bedrooms.
