Getting to Know NOAA: What is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration?
From daily weather forecasts, severe storm warnings, and climate monitoring to fisheries management, coastal restoration, and supporting marine commerce, NOAA products and services support economic vitality as well as resilient communities and ecosystems. Ms. Polly Hicks, restoration ecologist with NOAA Restoration Center, will talk about NOAA’s history and mission and provide examples of how NOAA’s work, reaching the surface of the sun to the depths of the ocean floor, supports the communities and health of the Salish Sea. Lectures are free and open to the public. Sponsored by Friends of Skagit Beaches: This email address is being protected from spambots.
